Luxury Holiday Cottages in South West Scotland

Situated in the unspoilt landscape of Galloway, Corsewall is a traditional sporting and agricultural estate on the shores of Loch Ryan. Set in an early nineteenth century designed landscape, surrounded by exotic trees and shrubs warmed by the Gulf Stream, Corsewall Estate’s self catering holiday cottages offer privacy, peace and stylish quality accommodation. The entire estate is yours to enjoy – nowhere is out of bounds.

This undiscovered corner of south west Scotland in western Dumfries and Galloway is known by its old county name of Wigtownshire. Famous for beef and dairy farming, very little has changed in the past two centuries. It remains one of the least populated areas of the country, you will not be tripping over other visitors – this is not Cornwall or the Lakes, the landscape of this part of Dumfries and Galloway remains very much unspoilt – few large towns, no motorways, miles of largely deserted beaches and the best local ingredients such as venison, beef, lamb, salmon, oysters and scallops.

However, despite the peace and privacy there is a host of things to occupy your time while staying in one of our luxury holiday cottages in south west Scotland: playing on one of the estate’s beaches; visiting the local chocolate factory – children often make careers choices there; experiencing a range of local golf courses – from the quite remarkably beautiful and nearby Portpatrick Dunskey course to the championship courses of Turnberry and Troon in neighbouring Ayrshire; visiting stunning gardens bathed in the Gulf Stream; indulging at the famous ice cream factory; mountain biking on the 7Stanes – a renowned off road cycle track through the forests, and exploring the delightful fishing villages including Portpatrick and Kirkcudbright.
