We are very much looking forward to this year’s Wigtown Book Festival – a ten day literary extravaganza from 27 September to 6 October.  Described as being ‘one of the best autumn literary festivals in the world’, this year there are more than 180 events for adults and children with headline guests including the wonderful Joanna Lumley,  Jeremy Bowen, Peter Snow and Mark Lawson.

I was furious with myself that I hadn’t booked my ticket for Miss Ab Fab as soon as the catalogue was launched, however, a lovely friend who bought a spare ticket has come to my rescue.  It’s great timing as she’s on the first Saturday afternoon and I’m sure there will be lots of children’s events for Angus to take the children to, while I enjoy a bit of me-time with the girls!

Although the Jo Lumley event is sold out, I’m sure there are plenty of tickets left for other events and for those looking for a literary getaway, we still have availability left at Stables Cottage (sleeps 4) and High Clachan Farmhouse (sleeps  4 or 8).
