And finally! We’ve just launched our holiday cottage in Portpatrick – Cedar Lodge. It’s been a long time in the making – five years to be precise – but we’re there at long last and we’re delighted with the result.
Located on Golf Course Road, Cedar Lodge is right next door to the Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Course and has wonderful sea views over the Irish Sea.
The holiday house has four bedrooms and sleeps eight – three of the bedrooms can either be made up as twins or doubles with the fourth bedroom having full sized bunk beds, making the sleeping arrangements ideal for golfing group holidays or families.
We’ve had a couple of nights staying at the house to ensure everything is working and I love relaxing in the spacious open plan kitchen and sitting room with its wonderful sea views.
I really enjoyed cooking in the evenings in the open plan kitchen/sitting room/dining room with friends sitting chatting to me on one of the bar stools and ensuring my glass was well topped up!
Portpatrick is a charming fishing village with focal point being around the harbour. It’s great for all sorts of holidays: beach holidays – there are lots of lovely sandy beaches from which to choose within walking distance, from the little one in the village to Laird’s Bay and Killantringan; golfing breaks – with Cedar Lodge being right beside the Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Course and walking holidays – with Portpatrick at the start of the Southern Upland Way, q wide choice of walks in the nearby Dunkey Estate and Gardens and close to the Galloway Forest Park.
We still have a few weeks available in July and August but I’m secretly hoping they don’t all sell as I really fancy a mini break for our own family at Cedar Lodge in Portpatrick!
