Now we know the Grinch quite hasn’t stolen Christmas this year, it’s all systems go!  And it’s all about spending time with family and friends in the great outdoors and going for lots of walks.  And that’s where Corsewall Estate comes in!

Cosy Boltholes for Christmas and New Year

If you are looking for a get-away-from-it-all, cosy bolthole in south-west Scotland for Christmas or New Year look no further. We have two 4-star holiday cottages all within walking distance of the sea available for a socially distanced Christmas stay – High Clachan Farmhouse (sleeps 8) and Cedar Lodge in Portpatrick (sleeps 8).  For the Hogmanay week, due to a cancellation, we have Stables Cottage (sleeps 4).

Holiday Cottages with Woodland and Coastal Walks

Luxury holiday cottages with woodland walks and coastal paths are us.  Over the past year we have built a network of paths through our extensive woodlands and along our pretty beaches.  Just step outside the front door of any of our cottages and there are miles of paths to explore. There are lots of bracing walks around the estate and down to the sea – perfect if you want to bring your dog or just want to work off the odd indulgence over the festive period!

Choose the Loop, which takes you through the historic Corsewall woods, up to the top of the hill where you can see the beautiful sea views across to Ailsa Craig, Arran and even the Paps of Jura on a clear day.  Or walk along the rugged coastline path from Port Beg to the sandy beach of Lady Bay.  Or follow the pretty path through the woods beside the Corsewall Burn.

And at night-time, sticking with the great outdoors theme, why not take advantage of the dark skies and minimal light pollution in south west Scotland and try star gazing?  We’ll provide a firepit to keep you warm and toasty while outside.

High Clachan Farmhouse – Sleeps 8

High Clachan Farmhouse, which sleeps 8, has four bedrooms, three of which are en suite, a cosy log burning stove and a conservatory with beautiful views over the rolling Galloway landscape.  It’s available from 20th December for 7 nights for £1,409 or from 23rd December for £1,252 for 4 nights.

Cedar Lodge – Sleeps 8

Cedar Lodge in the pretty charming coastal village of Portpatrick is located a stone’s throw from the Portpatrick golf course and has beautiful sea views over the North Channel across the sea to Ireland.  With the start of the Southern Upland Way close by, there are miles of beautiful coastal paths to explore right on the doorstep.  Cedar Lodge is available from 20th December at a rate of £1,700 for 7 nights or from 23rd December for £1,252 for 4 nights.

Stables Cottage – Sleeps 4

For Hogmanay, Stables Cottage, which sleeps 4 and has a wonderfully warming log burner in the sitting room, is available at a rate of £761 from 28th December to 4th January.
