Get to grips with the great outdoors during your stay at one of our self-catering cottages. The 7Stanes is a series of seven amazing and varied mountain biking centres located across Wigtownshire, Kirkcudbrightshire, Dumfriesshire and the Borders in the east. The nearest two to Corsewall are found at Kirroughtree and Glentrool in the Galloway Forest Park near Newton Stewart, a 45-minute drive away.
Five of the 7stanes are located in Dumfries and Galloway, with the remaining two further east in the Scottish Borders.
The 7stanes consists of over 400 km of cross country all weather mountain bike trails of which more than 60% are purpose-built single track. Gentler trails suitable for families are found at Glentrool, Kirroughtree, Dalbeattie, Mabie, Ae, Glentress and Newcastleton. Most centres, however, cater for a wide range of abilities from complete beginners to seasoned experts.
Glentrool
Discover the wild heart of Dumfries and Galloway with a wide range of riding experiences, all of which start and finish at Glentrool Visitor Centre. With magnificent views of lochs and hills contrasting with sheltered woodlands and some testing climbs and big descents, as well as family-friendly routes, you are guaranteed a great day out.

Kirroughtree
Home to some of the best technical single track in the country, this is also a favourite family venue with a wide range of trails, seasonal café and a great kids’ play area. The Breakpad, which is next door to the visitor centre, offers an excellent bike hire service.
